Computer users do certain things on their computers by habit. We load all our pictures, our mp3's/itunes, our shopping lists and the list can virtually go forever. We expect each day for everything to be right where we left it.

The more you use your computer, the more you need to defragment, to scan for adware, malware, spyware, and the ugly viruses. AVG from Grisoft handles the spyware, adware and viruses very well, and best yet, there is a free version (Just check out related links page and click on AVG).

Malware , however, is another story altogether. Those hackers who back in the 90's were such a nusance, are now all grown up, and now do their programming for profit. Malwarebytes (also on our related links page) help combat the malware issues very well, again, there is a free version, however you will have to run your scans manually.

Today, everything we do is online, even backing up our computers (Cloud Back-ups). We need to change our habits. We need to make sure we download those priority updates, to do a system back up every week, to get rid of those bloated security suites, and unwanted programs we downloaded. We need to make it a habit to make sure our anti-virus is not just up-to-date, but to be sure the anti-virus is running and scanning what we are doing while we are online.
